This is from Cynthia " I prefer pen and paper and use it far more than the technology available to us (and I have an ipad, iphone, mac etc.). The technologies are a tool for me like a hammer. I have a hammer in the house for when I need to fix something. I do not believe that our students need more technology time; I actually believe they need more personal communication time. Even in my minimum wage job last year I did not use technology. My co-workers and I used pen and paper and we talked to each other we did not email or text. No one googled how to make fruit bread or anything else for that matter and we prepared everything by hand:-)
My fear is that we are putting too much emphasis on a technology that removes personal connection and too little on emotional intelligence and inner joy."
